One of the most fascinating things about the creation of logos is that every single one of them has a story attached to it.
Arguably the most readily identified logo is the “swoosh” Nike sign. While many people assume that the logo is simply a check mark with no true meaning behind it, there’s actually more depth to it than that.
Nike is actually a Greek goddess of victory. The designer behind the logo, Carolyn Davidson took the liberty of incorporating the goddess more into the brand by creating a simple design of her wing (what would later be known as the “swoosh” symbol).
The most amazing thing? Carolyn was only paid 35 bucks for creating one of the most world-renowned symbols of our time. Talk about a head spin!
