Are terms of conditions, privacy policies, etc., of a website copyrighted? Can I copy their terms, edit them and use them for my own website?

Since there are so many similar apps out there, some terms in your ToS and privacy policy are bound to overlap with something else already out there.

But the trick is addressing the nuances that make your app/service different from the rest in a proper legal document that protects your business from liability and builds trust with your users (by spelling out what exactly you do with their data).

By not doing that property–yes, it is possible that you might make your business open to some legal ramifications.

An alternative approach you can take try your best to draft up up the basics in the ToS & PP and then pass it off to a startup lawyer who will review it and update all the hard stuff. We happen to offer to offer that service (among others) at LawTrades so your costs aren’t as high.

Hope you figure this out soon! Feel free to reach out if you’re still confused.
