If an attorney sends me a letter requesting information but not threatening a lawsuit, do I have to respond?

You should have your own attorney take a look at this letter.

You don’t have to respond, but it’s curious as to why the lawyer is trying to get information from you. It’s not in your best interest to oblige, especially if you have no idea what he plans to do with the information. But, you should still have an understanding of why this lawyer is reaching out to you in the first place.
