Should you have a prenuptial agreement in place before getting married?

A lot depends on the soon-to-be newlyweds. While I agree with you that “I don’t think it’s bad to consider the possibility of divorce no matter how in love a couple is,” not everyone shares the same sense of realism. To some partners, bringing up a prenup can cause trust issues. So, it really depends on the level of communication between partners, as well as the financial stability of both sides. If you’re the breadwinner and/or could inherit a substantial amount of $$$ then you may want to ponder it even more. Speaking with an attorney might be a good idea to get a sense of what is your property vs your spouses property without a prenup. Remember, even if you’ve already tied the knot you can still implement a postnup.

If you’re interested in having a contract attorney assist you with drafting a prenup then feel free to visit LawTrades. Our legal platform offers free consultations and no-obligation price quotes. Good luck w/ everything.
