Is there a way to avoid California LLC tax ($800) if no business was made under its name?

Nope, the fee is applicable so long as your LLC is registered. It doesn’t matter that the business isn’t actually functioning.

You have two choices:

  1. Dissolve the business so you don’t have to pay the fee next year.
  2. Create the business so you don’t feel like you are just throwing away money.

Either way, ya gotta pay!
