Throughout my 26-year career at Verizon, 17 specializing in legal operations, I’ve held a variety of roles and responsibilities. Given the variety of my work experience, I am very familiar with the responsibilities and requirements of various departments within a large company.

As I progressed in my career as a Legal Operations Specialist my passion grew for this specialized and expansive field. I became the department expert in document management, matter management, and legal spend reporting and analysis, paying close attention to spending on diversity and inclusion with hundreds of law firms. Designed over 50 business intelligence … more reports, both ad-hoc and scheduled, that provided real-time visibility into $100 million annual spend and other performance metrics on Verizon’s outside counsel, including diversity spend on thousands of attorneys from over 200 law firms using American Bar Association (ABA) diversity standards. Outside counsel spend decreased and diverse attorney use increased based on these reports provided to Verizon’s General Counsel and Legal Senior Staff.
Matter Management
Managed Verizon’s matter management and e-billing software, outside counsel timekeeper rates and approvals, including Alternative and Flat Fee Arrangements, with company policies and billing guidelines to optimize efficiency, compliance, and help to reduce overall spend.
Directed the evaluation, testing, and implementation of Verizon’s matter management and e-billing program with integration into finance and document management systems. Defined roles, responsibilities, procedures, accountabilities, data transfer, and timelines for project tasks. Coordinated the activities of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
Document Management
Maintained Verizon’s iManage document management database (over 1 million documents and 500+ users), developed and administered end-user training, provided first-level end-user technical support as well as assisted with testing, upgrades, customizations, implementation, and configurations.
