Client is an enterprise company focused on cutting edge technologies.
They are seeking three attorneys for this same role to support various product lines.
This will be a w-2 position as it is Full Time (40 hours/week) so the payout is lower than if 1099, however you will avoid the self employment tax.
Engagement likely to start in August.

Client’s legal group seeks an experienced, highly motivated attorney to join as Lead Counsel to support user integrity and related teams across its product lines. The organization is building the next generation of computing devices to bring the world together and make people feel closer. This includes this various company products. Success in this position will require applying a complex and evolving global legal framework to new and innovative tech products and services.
In this role, you will review products, features, and initiatives to inform on user online safety and integrity while balancing important priorities. You will help to ensure legal compliance with content regulation, child safety and privacy laws, and other legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge issues in a fast-paced start-up environment. The ideal candidate will provide front-line legal support as a self-starter with strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills working collaboratively with legal colleagues and business partners across the organization.
- Product counseling:
- Provide legal advice for several product categories and in-market devices related to user online safety across several product categories.
- Review and analyze product designs, features, and updates through an online safety and integrity (misuse/abuse of the platform) lens
- Develop online safety and integrity strategies for future products and provide practical legal risk mitigations and recommendations across multiple jurisdictions to product, product counsel, and cross-functional teams
- Provide and coordinate legal advice to product management, design, operations, enforcement, policy, and other business teams across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as integrity, online safety, content regulation, youth regulation, data protection and privacy regulation, consumer protection, and other global legal frameworks
- Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert on online safety and integrity across our business teams
- Build positive and influential relationships with executives, product teams, and peers across the Client organization and across their larger organization
- Lead consensus building and drive coordination with other members of the legal team and teams within the business
- Coordinate with policy, communications, product management, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product development and launches
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 5+ years combined law firm and in-house experience, including experience working with technology companies
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally
- Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Proven problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing product counseling for technology products/industry
- Prior in-house experience at a technology company
- Experience counseling clients relating to content regulation, privacy and data protection, consumer protection, and/or youth/child regulations
- Experience building scalable legal functions and processes, e.g. frameworks, playbooks, product guidance
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally
- Experience working on multiple projects at once in fast-paced environment
- Proven problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Comfortable with “cold-calling” within the company to meet and find experts who are widely distributed throughout the organization
