Here’s another microdose of the coolest things I discovered this week–written by me, Raad—CEO of LawTrades.
1. What I’m listening to 🎻
The Caretaker’s An Empty Bliss Beyond This World
I can’t describe this music better than this YouTuber: “An empty room, with an old man in a dusty suit, quietly dancing the tango with someone who is not there.” Great songs to listen to during a bath.
2. A hack I learned 🤔
To make better decisions, ask yourself these 3 questions:
What are the consequences of my decision in 10 minutes?
In 10 months?
And in 10 years
Credit to Suzy Welch.
3. Jeans I wear daily 🇯🇵
Naked & Famous Black X Grey Selvedge
Raw Japanese denim have this unique ability to conform to you. As you wear them they crease and mold to your body, making your jeans personal and one-of-a-kind. It’s developed by mimicking the way American denim was made in the 60’s, with ring-spun and rope-dyed yarns women on shuttle looms. But while most American manufacturers moved onto more cost-efficient methods of mass production, Japanese manufactures—specifically the city of Okayama—keep the old-school traditional alive by valuing quality over quantity. Also, they look great.
4. What I eat 🍽️
My Nutrition Report
I’m following a diet consisting of roughly 10% carbs, 20% protein and 70% fats. I fast from 8pm to 1pm and try to work out in the morning from 7am-7:45am.
5. Why I started this company💡
A short clip answering why I started this startup. Spoiler alert: lawyers still operate their law firm in the same way they did 50 years ago.
6. An article I read 🔌
I loved this piece because it resonates with my New Years resolution of unplugging during the weekend. Disconnecting— even for just a few hours—is extremely rare and extremely valuable. Silence is conducive for creating, and you won’t get any competitive advantage consuming the same updates as everyone else.
Have a mindful rest of the week.
