EULA Licensing

lawtrades website design

Licensing your software.

A EULA lawyer (end user license agreement) or licensing lawyer will help you establish the purchaser’s right to use your software.

– Check your legal compliance

– Tailored to your business

– Have an EULA lawyer to turn to

What’s a EULA

An End User License Agreement (EULA), which is also referred to as a software license agreement, is a legal contract between the manufacturer and/or the author and the user of that application. Think of it as like a rental agreement for an app’s users. EULA lawyers will detail how the software can and cannot be used and any restrictions that the manufacturer imposes. Sometimes called “shrinkwrap” or “click-through” agreements, they legally bind users to a number of strict terms – and yet you never sign your name. Importantly, the EULA protects the manufacturer from liability if the software is used in an intended way.

The benefits
Check your legal compliance

Running a website implicates a series of rules, like privacy laws and various intellectual property concerns, so it’s smart to see if your website complies and protects everything.

Have an EULA lawyer to turn to

There’s a good chance you’re going to like your EULA lawyer from LawTrades and want to keep using them. By setting up that relationship for a EULA, you have a legal expert to turn to when in need.

Tailored to your business

Some (risky) companies will copy and paste terms from other websites or use a terms generator, which can lead to big problems down the road. Hiring a licensing lawyer to draft your documents quiets any concerns.

What is a license?

In the context of software, a license grants a limited right to the customer, thus allowing use of the software according to specified terms of use.

What terms can be found in an EULA?

Typical terms within an EULA include definitions, a license grant, a copyright notice, the limitations on usage and transfer, duration of the license, the warranty terms, limitations of liability, governing law, and dispute resolution methods.

What’s the difference between an EULA and Terms of Service?

EULA’s are intended to cover software apps. TOS are used to govern websites and mobile apps.

How is a EULA accepted?

The EULA can be accepted in many different ways, and a licensing lawyer can work with the manufacturer or vendor to determine which method is best for your product and which way complies with your given jurisdiction.

“Simple and trustworthy system. The project manager through text message is a good idea and helps a lot with the process, especially their timely response.”

“I was very comfortable with the environment it was my first meeting and I knew it was on the right track I did understand my lawyer I was listening I did absorb the information given to me.”

“Great experience all around, LawTrades was just so much more personal and much better than other startup/online on-demand solutions for legal work,. Almost feels like I handpicked and hired the attorney myself. The Attorney was available to answer questions by phone or text message, so was the LawTrades rep who set the whole thing up. And when setting up new entities you always have questions, so this was a big deal for me. The Attorney assigned to my project was available on demand to help out explain things every step of the way and I think the guys at LawTrades have done a great job with making you feel extremely comfortable. After all was done I even got an email and a call from one of the co founders of the company to make sure I had a seamless experience. I never got a call from other companies I had used in the past like Legal zoom and the whole thing always felt so automated. Yes, granted Legal zoom probably have way more clients than Lawtrades and as such would not be feasible for their management to call everyone, however, that was a nice touch which I do appreciate. I will definitely be heading back to Lawtrades whenever I require legal assistance.”

“Price. I know what I am paying instead of getting surprised. Transparent pricing I know what each bit costs instead of getting a big bill and not knowing what parts cost what and how much was for service vs hard fees such as filing fees. Also things progressed rapidly.”
